Transforming the Grid

In a world where technology is constantly advancing, the infrastructure that powers our communities and homes needs to evolve too.

One of the most significant transformations happening today is the shift from overhead power lines to underground power systems. This change is not just about aesthetics, it has far-reaching benefits for safety, reliability, and sustainability.

Back in September our electrical team completed a project at Cable Beach caravan park as part of Horizon Powers project to change overhead power to underground power.

Our teams job was to install a new site main switchboard which would be adjacent to the new transformers location, along with 2x 400mm2 mains to the new site main switchboard cables. A new distribution board with 2x 500m2 mains was also installed.

As cities and towns across the world look to modernise their infrastructure, underground power lines are quickly becoming the gold standard. With advancements in technology, the process of burying power lines is becoming more efficient, affordable, and environmentally friendly. As the push for renewable energy sources grows, the underground power grid also becomes an important component of future-proofing our electricity networks.

In the years to come, the benefits of underground power systems will continue to shape the way we think about energy distribution. Not only will they provide a more reliable and aesthetically pleasing power source, but they will also play a pivotal role in creating a safer, more sustainable world.
